The Brooklyn Beats is the inaugural event/wedding band founded by music industry veteran, Jon Shiffman.

From 2005 to 2015, Jon's career was spent mostly on the road with Grammy winner Jack Antonoff (Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, Lorde). During this time, Jon played Drums as a member of the Antonoff-led band Steel Train, recorded with the Platinum-selling band Fun, and served as Music Director and Drummer in Antonoff's Bleachers.

With these projects and others, Jon has toured all over the world, performed at festivals like Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and appeared on late night shows such as David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Fallon and more. His drumming can be heard on various National TV Commercials, and is featured in the 2024 release of Paramount Pictures’ Mean Girls movie.

Since even before leaving the touring life in 2015, Jon has been a fixture in the New York private event/wedding band scene and has been a drummer, band leader, talent booker and event producer for the biggest agencies and bands in the area.

After over 10 years of working with other bands and agencies, Jon knew he had much to offer clients in terms of providing top-tier musical performances coupled with family oriented, "Mom and Pop style" customer service.

His eye for talent along with his unique experience in both original popular music and private event/wedding band production ensures that The Brooklyn Beats are among the best event bands in New York. The band is comprised of the most talented and experienced performers from the New York area.

Jon lives in the NYC area with his wife, Abbe, their daughter Joanna, and their dog, Bowie.
